This house full of character is set in the Pays-de-Bray peaceful countryside of Normandy. This is the Bresle Valley near Mont-Gournoy wood, which is the starting point of exciting hiking to the Eu forest.
Neufchâtel-En-Bray, former capital of Pays-de-Bray, is only 13 km away. Along with its small shops, this town has a beautiful place market which is held every Saturday morning, a cinema, a theatre and a swimming pool. For an outing to the casino or to the spa, Forges-Les-Eaux, is only a 20 minutes drive.
Our country house is a former farmhouse built in 1870. It has kept all its outbuildings, including a barn and a pigsty of about 200 m² surface area. The one hectare fenced ground is divided into a garden, an orchard and a meadow. The house is brick built on three levels, with slate and tiles roofing. On the ground floor, an entrance hall leads into a large living room with fireplace, a kitchen, a bedroom and a toilet room. The staircase climbs up to the 4 bedrooms and the family bathroom and up to the attic of the second floor.
A cosy semi-detached duplex apartment with a living room, a kitchen, a bathroom, a living room and a bedroom allows a B&B business.
The utility space for the fuel boiler and the wood boiler are in a separate building.
Another building sheds a workshop and two garages, making it possible to keep two vehicles and a camper van.
On the street side, the garden is fenced with a low wall and a wrought iron gate. The back ground of the house is planted with fruit trees and flowers. A little gate opens into a meadow where an ancient barn is there to be restored. The old pigsty is in good condition and could be reconfigured with no major renovation work.
45 minutes from Rouen, Dieppe and from the beaches of the Côte d'Albatre, this house is a very good option as a second home for city dwellers looking for peace and quietness. There's easy access to Amiens, Abbeville and Rouen. Calais is under a 2 hours drive, Paris is only 2 hours away and going to Brussels would just take 2 hours and fifty minutes.
